WHY ANCHOR JOSIAH?!
Everyone thinks I chose the name Anchor because I am OBSESSED with all things beach and water. Although they are not mistaken in that I am 100% a SALT LIFE girl (I mean who else walks 6 miles on the beach when it’s 20 degrees out? Can I get a Burrrrr baby lol), I actually chose the name Anchor as a reminder of one of my favorite Bible verses. “God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to TAKE HOLD of the HOPE set before us may be GREATLY ENCOURAGED. We have this HOPE AS AN ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL, FIRM and SECURE. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where OUR FORERUNNER, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrew 6:18-20
As you know, this life and world are both simultaneously wonderful and hard. There are many things to be thankful for everyday, such as belly hard laughs (and in my case snorts 🤣🤣lol), a warm cup of coffee, food in our bellies, a hug from a loved one, the sound of music, a cozy blanket and candle, a bed and pillow to lie our head on safely at night. There are beautiful sights to behold all around us, such as a babies smile, puppies (c'mon...how cute is my Anchor?), the roaring ocean, the blood orange moon, a bursting cheerful sunrise, a relaxing sunset, etc. However, there are also really dark days and really hard and long waiting seasons. There is suffering and in some cases long suffering (those diseases, illnesses, problems that are continuous and perhaps permanent).
I want you to know with all my heart that WHATEVER you are going through, it is not a surprise to God. He SEES you, CARES about you, LOVES you unconditionally, whole heartedly, completely and continually. He looks down upon you with love and approves of you. That’s right! He created everything on this earth and said IT WAS GOOD, that includes YOU (Genesis 1:31)!!
We do not need to feel discouraged and hopeless about our current circumstances nor do we need to worry about all the potential problems that may occur in the future. Jesus is our FORERUNNER! He goes before us and is already there. We have the hope of Jesus, the supernatural Strength of the Holy Spirit that equips us for every hard thing we may need to walk through and a God that loves us and will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus said “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:33. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 The PEACE that only God can offer is the HOPE THAT ANCHORS MY SOUL Everyday! ⚓️❤️⚓️ MY PUP ANCHOR JOSIAH IS MY DAILY REMINDER OF THAT TRUTH.
JOSIAH is the name given to Anchor by the breeder. Josiah means "the God of healing." There is also a long amazing story of how I ended up getting Anchor and how God reserved him just for me. Long story short, I believe God sent me this puppy "Josiah" as a physical, tangible reminder of His promise to redeem and restore all that was stolen and the "healing" He is continually doing in our soul and spirit, if we let Him.
